The Aurora Food Pantry could not operate without our dedicated volunteers. Every distribution day requires 35 – 40 volunteers and there are a wide variety of jobs available to suit all abilities. We look forward to working with you!
There are numerous benefits to volunteering, among them meeting new people, engaging in physical activity and getting plugged into your local community. For larger groups, volunteering at the pantry is a great way to demonstrate your organization’s commitment to ending local hunger while fostering teamwork and collaboration with your colleagues.
Why Volunteer
at the Aurora Food Pantry
We welcome individuals age 18 and older, youth ages 14–17, families, small groups, businesses and community organizations. We also offer opportunities for individuals completing court-ordered community service.
Volunteer assignments are based on the Pantry’s current needs and may include:
- Sorting food donations
- Preparing and delivering boxes of groceries as
- Assisting with food distribution
- Cleaning and organizing the pantry
- Working in The Essential Garden
- Helping with special programs and events
- Performing data entry and other clerical tasks
- Youth volunteers: A signed parental consent form is required.
- Court-ordered service: Please review our court-ordered service requirements before getting started.
